Welcome, everyone, to the Willenhall Cov Blog

This is my first post, so perhaps I had better explain my choice of title. I'm the secretary of the Willenhall Local History Group, based in South-East Coventry. At history fairs, my group were often baffled by queries about the history of locks and keys (or was it locks and quays?) We soon realised that there is a bigger Willenhall, in Staffordshire. If you're interested in the history of Willenhall,Staffs, go to this link for a start.

Otherwise, I'll tell you something about this beautiful corner of South-East Coventry, 3.5 miles away from the city centre. A river runs through it, the Sowe, and it is bounded on the N.E. side by the London to Birmingham railway. This gives the area a sense of geographical isolation from the rest of the city, which contributes to its mysterious beauty.

This is just a brief introduction: if you are new to the area, I hope this will whet your appetite for more information. If you are a local person, I would like to invite you to share some of your experiences, and participate and leave comments.
